Beautiful paintings done entirely with custom blended glass frit, sheet and stringer
Classes in Fused Glass from beginner to advanced are held at Mel's beautiful 1800 sq ft studio. Located on the rim of the Deschutes River Canyon in beautiful Central Oregon. The studio is fully equipped with 3 kilns, all glass supplies and machines and tools. Plus it has a nice bathroom, refrigerator and sink.
Sessions are generally held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-12:30. Sessions are limited to 3 people per class and are scheduled as people sign up. Saturday afternoon sessions, from 1-4:30 are sometimes scheduled.

2008 finalist in Bullseye Glass' "e'merge" competition, for emerging glass artists, one of only 20 finalists from the United States. Entrant is "Pear Study". The work was exhibited in the Bullseye Gallery in Portland, Oregon and then sold to a private collector

"Finding Peace, Fire and Water" A Two person show!! August 2021 at the Campbell Gallery in Sisters, Oregon.. Along with prize winning watercolor painter Terri Dill Simpson, my fused glass landscaping "paintings" are now on display. The Campbell Gallery, inside the Sisters Art Works building that houses the offices of the Sisters Folk Festival is a wonderful venue for a small show. We very much appreciate the opportunity that the Campbell Gallery provides to artists. We each have about 13 pcs hung on the walls, many of my very latest pieces. The Campbell Gallery is located at 304 W Adams Ave, Sisters. Artists Reception is on Aug 6th from 5-7. This is a charity benefit for the Santiam Canyon Wildfire Relief Fund. "Niagara Waterwheel" a 24" x 24" fused glass painting is available for sale with 50% of the proceeds going to the Wildfire Relief Fund. Come and have some wine, listen to local Jazz muscian Greg Druian and view some beautiful artwork. Then donate to the Santiam Canyon Wildfire Relief Fund. A 501c3 registered non-profit administered by the Santiam Hospital. I will be there with some glass!!

My Own Two Hands" MOTH charity art auction held on May 11, 2019 benefiting the Sisters Folk Festival that supports arts education in Sisters Oregon. It is absolutly amazing how much the Sisters community support their arts in the schools. My glass painting and my story will be featured in the Bend Bulletin and then in the Folk Festival hand out. I am so happy to be part of this very worthwhile event, and Sisters, next year you are getting a major painting.
